New Pop Art – Escape to Wine Country
This is the first installment in my new pop-art wine series. It features some tasty Duckhorn MERLOT from the Three Palms Vineyard in Napa California. The blonde is ready to party in Northern California’s wine country.
Every weekend the roads here in Northern California are filled with people who are escaping San Francsico for a fun getaway weekend. Plus we have travelers who are arriving here from all around the world to visit beautiful Sonoma and Napa counties, lovingly called “wine country”. It’s quite common to see Limousines filled with people enroute to wine tasting events. Here in Sonoma county where I live, there are almost 60,000 acres of vineyards and more than 425 wineries! That’s a butt ton-load of wineries!
My mother was Austrian and so I grew up drinking wine, sampling my first glass at age 5 or 6, and my fondness for wine has never left. Perhaps this is why I’m so inspired to paint my latest ‘wine’ series. Or it’s because there’s so much wine all around and the inspiration here is endless!
I had SO MUCH FUN creating this, there’s even a video on my instagram of me dancing while painting this (I’m wine fueled of course) check it out!

I hope you enjoy the first installment of my new series! Prost! Cheers! Salute! Skol!
By the way….
Over one hundred grape varieties are grown in California. The seven leading grape varieties here in Northern California are Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot noir, Sauvignon blanc, Syrah, Zinfandel. The production of wine in California alone is one third larger than that of Australia. If California were a separate country, it would be the world’s fourth largest wine producer.
