Crystal prism is the latest abstract painting that I’ve been working on.

Definition of crystal

  1. 1 :  quartz that is transparent or nearly so and that is either colorless or only slightly tinged

  2. 2 :  something resembling crystal in transparency and colorlessness

  3. 3 :  a body that is formed by the solidification of a chemical element, a compound, or a mixture and has a regularly repeating internal arrangement of its atoms and often external plane faces

Definition of prism

  1. 1 :  a polyhedron with two polygonal faces lying in parallel planes and with the other faces parallelograms

  2. 2a :  a transparent body that is bounded in part by two nonparallel plane faces and is used to refract or disperse a beam of lightb :  a prism-shaped decorative glass luster

  3. 3 :  a crystal form whose faces are parallel to one axis; especially :  one whose faces are parallel to the vertical axis

  4. 4 :  a medium that distorts, slants, or colors whatever is viewed through it

MATERIALS – Professional artist grade acrylic, gesso, artist mediums and varnish on stretched canvas.

SIZE – 18H X 24W (46 x 61cm)

SIDES – The painting’s theme continues on the sides of the canvas, so you can hang this without a frame.

Very interesting, it makes me seek refractions. The swirls give the scene marvelous action. Love the color interactions too, in a word: Great!
