Angels Among Us

Colorful textured abstract

Exploring a new color palette, and this one is very uplifting. Angels Among Us is a textured abstract that started with a lot of heavy gel medium (Nova Super Gel #209) . I love this shit, it is flexible and holds peaks so well. Then I used a shaping tool (for cake decorating) this gave it some wonderful line and patterns.

Who doesn’t love a good surprise?

Something about adding words and letters and numbers into paintings that really intrigues me. It’s like when you look at a painting there’s just so much more to it, than meets the eye. I love surprises and if you look at some of my paintings you’ll know, there is always a surprise, a hidden message or meaning buried within it.  This one is fairly obvious, it says “think out loud”.

Many layers of paint

There must be about 10 layers or more of paint, so there’s a lot of depth that the camera never quite captures. No matter how hard we try, pictures almost always never do the original painting justice! There is a small  iridescent gold brush stroke in this one that really shimmers!

Thanks Suzanne! Yes it is, many peeps don’t know what it means. Maybe I need to build a lexicon of artists terms on the site!
