Live Painting Demo!

Well the Uncorked show officially kicked off this past Sunday – Yeah!

We kicked things off with a live painting demonstration.

It rained on and off all day Sunday and despite the rain, and that it was the last week of ARTtrails; Sonoma County’s open studio tour, the turn-out wasn’t bad. I would have liked to paint outside en plein air but the light steady rain was welcomed here in California! In all the excitement we forgot to take pictures – ugh! AND I didn’t even really post to instagram much, which is where all the “in the moment” good stuff lives! Oh well….

I can’t begin tell you how much work goes into an art show. For those of you who already know, then you probably know I’m exhausted. For those of you who don’t, it’s a lot of work and it’s all part of the process. Whether you’re an artist who has gallery representation or not, marketing and promoting is nearly always a part of the equation. Some of the best advice I’ve ever heard was from a podcast interview with Anthony Salgado, he said “work twice as hard and worry half as much”. Great words!

Just having a little fun!

Gearing up for tomorrow’s Artist Reception and then it’s back to my first love, painting. I’ve got a couple commissioned pieces that I’m excited to begin working on. The prep for this show has put them on hold, but I see light at the end of the tunnel!
Can’t wait to be painting again!!!

Have a great weekend and if you’re in the area I hope you’ll stop by tomorrow, Friday Night 5-8pm @ the Hopscotch Gallery in Glen Ellen
