Party Animals
Large abstract painting
Party Animals has so much going on, there’s a story in there! All this rain in Northern California lately, has me reaching for more colors. This colorful mixed media painting measures 40″ x 30″ x 1.5″ (102 x 76cm)

There’s a lot of marks in this one, but soon I started turning them into shapes. It wasn’t long before all these shapes became objects that started to tell a story. What started with a few marks and splashes of color, just sort of evolved. This is one of those paintings that just sort of painted it self. Sometimes you have to shut off the logical part of your brain and get out of your own way. As always, the colors look WAY better in person.

It’s a party
Birthday cake with candles, dogs dreaming of dog bones, hearts, jugglers, elephants and sailing ships.
Have a great week –

1 May 2018This is now one of my Deb ‘Faves’. So much energy and high colours that work. So many interesting places for the eye to visit. Brilliant, congratulations…

1 May 2018Thanks John, and here I thought it was too wierd! Thank goodness for reading that book again by David Bayles & Ted Orland – ART & FEAR… it almost didn’t see the light of day.
