Peaceful Sol – Abstracted Landscape
- Peaceful Sol is a square, abstracted landscape painting, measuring 36 x 36" / 91 x 91 cm. It was painted mostly with my non-dominant hand while I regain mobility and stamina in my dominant "painting" hand and arm. The colors are mostly blue, teal and earth tones. And I love the richness and depth achieved here. The further away you are from it, the more apparent the background river is with all these lines interconnecting with each other. There are washes of color over some drips, that give a peaceful, surreal feel to it. The painting continues onto the sides and is signed front and back. Yin Yang Painting – Finding Balance

- Yin Yang Symbol - Taijitu Painting This was painted with the feeling that these days, especially, we all could use more balance in our lives. This symbol reminds me of that. The yin yang symbol is from traditional Taoism originally, but it has become known as the symbol that means balance. There is light in the dark and dark in the light. The universe is made up of all of these contrasts. Examples include: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and male (Yang). The yin-yang is the idea that opposites are needed in order for harmony to exist. They are opposites, but they are both equal and needed. A local business owner had seen a print of Balancing Sun and Moon and wanted an original painting of it in a larger size. The new one also has some added some hidden keys in the painting, as her counseling practice is themed around "keys". Who knew there were so many fascinating types of keys??!!! She has a fabulously comfortable office space here in Sonoma County, CA., and I’m enjoying working with her on her other custom painting of Stella.
